You’re invited to become a founding member of a worldwide family of stitchers.
Experience the joy of making beautiful art with fabric and thread.
Guided by the world’s most inspiring textile artists.
TextileArtist.org Stitch Club is a safe creative space.
A space where stitchers like you will be inspired and empowered...
Whether you’re already making textile art...
Or you haven’t picked up a needle and thread since you were a child.
"The community you have created is an incubator for bringing out the best in everyone. My heart is full!"
"A hugely positive focus in challenging times. The community of stitchers involved are generous, supportive and enriching!"
Be creative in your own time, at your own pace, in your own home.
In times of isolation and beyond...
You’ll be invited to share in the passion and expertise of a celebrated textile artist in a stitch workshop video exclusive to members.
A step-by-step workbook will act as a reminder so you have a clear pathway for your creative process.
And an inspirational ebook will help you envisage how to take what you discover forward into larger pieces.
On Friday there will be two live Q&A sessions so you can get your stitch questions answered.
Why two? We want you to benefit from your workshop leader's insight no matter where in the world you are. At least one of the sessions will work for your timezone!
But there's no fear of missing out if you can’t join live, because replays will be available for all members.
Your workshop leader will offer feedback inside the Stitch Club members area to help you overcome creative stumbling blocks.
And we’ll be staying in touch via email with some gentle motivation.
"I can't wait to do more. I want to stuff it, couch it, colour it, french knot it, bend it, stretch it... oooooh – where can I go from here?
All I need is a needle and thread!"
"At a time of uncertainty a community of like minded people coming together has been amazing.
The variety from different textile artists has meant we have learnt so much."
The workshop videos and supporting materials are yours to access whenever suits you. Whether that’s a day, a week or a month after they're released.
The stitch processes will be manageable enough to do in just a few hours. But if you’re hungry to explore an idea in more detail you can take as long as you need – there’s no rush.
There's no pressure to do every single workshop. Think of Stitch Club as a textile art pick and mix that you can dip in and out of.
After three workshop weeks, there’s a breather week for you to try out a workshop you missed, revisit an exercise you really enjoyed or simply take a break.
The stitch workshops are suitable for all levels of experience. The emphasis is on creative thinking. Not fancy, complicated techniques.
"I have loved every moment of sitting quietly sewing – contemplating – losing myself in the wonky stitches!"
"It has given me the motivation to set aside time each week to devote to textile art.
I've explored techniques I wouldn't otherwise have thought of and had the opportunity to learn from some very talented and acclaimed textile artists"
As a member you’ll have two options for how to access the workshop materials and chat with your fellow stitchers
If you enjoy the buzz and interactivity of social media the private Facebook group is for you!
If you prefer to learn in a calmer, slower-paced setting or you just don’t want to be on Facebook, no worries. The Stitch Club members area (hosted on TextileArtist.org) is for you!
You won't miss out on a thing by not being on Facebook.
Inside the Stitch Club private members area you can access the workshop videos and supporting materials, post images of what your create, chat with your fellow stitchers and join the live Q&A sessions.
In your first week of membership, you’ll get a guided tour of both platforms so you know exactly how to find what you’re looking for and figure out which option suits you.
"...so educational, inspiring and challenging.
It is hard to describe the feeling of being part of this world wide group, sharing this experience and seeing everyone's unique interpretations."
"I've often felt different in how I create and now I'm happy with that.
It means I'm just being me, unique, as we all are.
Just look at the huge scope of ideas each week on here, it's wonderful!"
In your first month of membership you’ll discover an exciting range of approaches to making textile art from three artists from different corners of the earth.
That’s something we believe you can’t experience anywhere else other than the TextileArtist.org Stitch Club.
UK textile artist and current Chair of the celebrated 62 Group Debbie Lyddon will encourage you to uncover stories in objects and interpret those stories in stitch.
We’ve had lots of email requests for an online workshop with Debbie so who better to kick things off?
As a member, if you ask for a particular artist, we’ll do our very best to make it happen.
From the USA, Merill Comeau has had textile art featured in over 80 exhibitions.
She’ll be challenging you to experiment with expressive stitch and incorporate multiple materials to create narrative within your work.
In Australian artist Susie Vickery’s workshop you’ll embellish everyday materials with textural stitch.
Recently we were lucky enough to welcome Susie as guest tutor in Sue Stone’s online course Stitch Your Story and the feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive...
"Susie Vickery has helped me work past artistic paralysis.... I now feel more confident to move forward and find my own way.
Her warm, joyful presentation has invigorated me to reconnect with a playful approach to stitching."
"Today has been inspirational, and I feel after quite a few weeks of drifting I have my stitching mojo back.
I so felt the togetherness of stitchers all over the world as we connected with Susie."
And we’ll have more from the wonderful artists who recently shared their skills in TextileArtist.org’s free community stitch challenge including:
"A huge THANK YOU for bringing in these incredible top artists to offer us their wisdom and experience!
The lessons have been inspirational and unique and have pushed me in directions I never would have been able to explore on my own!"
"After years of feeling almost embarrassed about my textile work I can now say I will carry on with more confidence.
Thank you also to all the inspirational tutors."
We have a strong vision of a vibrant and inspirational place where you and your fellow stitchers can thrive. But that vision is flexible.
We need your help! And the help of all founding members.
In the first months of Stitch Club we’ll be asking for your feedback so that we can create the most rewarding ongoing creative experience for you.
Together we’ll make the creative resource you’ve been searching for.
Today we're offering you the chance to be part of a passionate family of stitchers and learn from the world’s most exciting textile artists for a special discounted subscription price of $27 US a month.
But this offer ends at midnight on Friday 22nd May 2020.
This is the lowest price we'll ever offer for Stitch Club membership.
And if you join today, you’ll only pay $27 US per month for as long as you're a member.
When we do re-open membership the subscription price will increase but that won't apply to you.
Plus you’re not tied in. If you find that Stitch Club isn’t the right fit for you, no worries. You’re free to cancel your subscription at any time.
"It’s been a wonderful time stretching my creativity.
Thank you everyone: artists for your expertise and members of the group for encouraging and sharing your experience."
"The learning I have experienced has been profound.
Not only the stitching but the compositions, fabrics, the connections, inspirations and the scope of expression, the patience, slowing down and more."

In case you don’t know we’re brothers Joe and Sam Pitcher and our mum is textile artist Sue Stone.
After decades of not being creative, mum gave herself the most wonderful gift. She reconnected with the stitch techniques she learned as a little girl sitting on her mother’s knee sewing clothes for her dolls.
Making textile art gave mum a new lease of life.
It was the transformation in mum that inspired us to create TextileArtist.org.
Our free community has over 60,000 textile art enthusiasts and the two online embroidery courses we developed with mum have welcomed almost 3,000 students in the past three years.
"Thank you for this wonderful textile adventure! It’s not an understatement to say I’m a completely different person because of what I learned in terms of confidence and inventiveness. "
Marianne Crosslé – Student of TextileArtist.org’s online courses
"I’ve never felt so creatively stimulated. I could feel my artistic confidence growing with each new challenge I completed."
