- Do I have to be on Facebook to be part of Stitch Club?
The short answer is ‘no’.
We understand that not everyone likes using Facebook so we don't use it to host any part of Stitch Club.
Instead we've designed a private members area on our own site where you can see the workshop videos, download workbooks and inspirational ebooks, get in touch with your workshop leader and the other members and post images of the work you create.
When you join, you’ll receive simple instructions for setting up a password and logging in.
The members area is super simple to navigate but we'll give you a short video tour in your first few days of membership so you can quickly and easily find your way around.
- Online stitch workshops will never be as satisfying as the in-person experience, will they?
Online learning for textile art actually has lots of advantages.
In-person workshops are time-limited and can be very expensive. Let’s say you pay £120 for a day of tuition.
If you join Stitch Club today, you’ll never pay more than £27 per month for as long as you choose to subscribe. For that price, you have access to an ongoing textile art education.
If you decide to be a member for a year, you’ll pay £27 a month for twelve months. In that year you’ll have access to at least 24 new workshops (plus a library of resources and archive workshops) led by amazingly inspirational textile artists from all around the world.
The equivalent cost of 24 in-person workshops could be over £3,000 and that doesn’t include travel costs or accommodation. And flying all over the world to take workshops with some of the tutors teaching inside Stitch Club just wouldn’t be an option.
Online learning is also better suited to catering for different levels of experience. Have you ever left a day’s workshop feeling inspired but a bit lost? Or unsure of how to bring a certain idea to reality. The beauty of the Stitch Club is you can follow up with the workshop leader and get feedback and answers for two whole weeks after their workshop is posted.
Plus you have the benefit of a much wider sphere of influence. You’ll be able to chat with, learn from and share your challenges with fellow stitchers from all over the world.

As a member of Stitch Club you’re not committing to a minimum membership. You’ll pay by direct debit month on month so if you find that life gets busy and you can no longer justify your membership, no worries! You can cancel at any time.
- How much does membership to Stitch Club cost in my local currency?

The joy of Stitch Club is that it isn’t a course. It's a club with an ever-growing library of workshops to explore.
And just as you wouldn’t feel obliged to read every book in a traditional library, you shouldn’t feel obliged to take part in every workshop in Stitch Club.
You can dip in and out, choose the exercises that excite you most and take a break when you need it.
Stitch Club has been built to fit in with your busy life.
There's no such thing as ‘falling behind’ because there are no deadlines, which means you can do the workshops at your own pace, in your own time.
And even if you can only find pockets of time, isn’t doing something creative better than doing nothing at all?
- What level is Stitch Club aimed at?
The Stitch Club workshops are designed with flexibility in mind.
They are inclusive for beginners but with options for more experienced stitchers to challenge themselves too.
There will be plenty of support from our workshop leaders throughout the two weeks of their 'live' workshop.
And the Further Development video in week two will encourage you to deepen your exploration and incorporate more advanced ideas, themes, techniques and processes.

- How do I pay for Stitch Club?
You can pay for Stitch Club by debit card, credit card or via Paypal.
When you make the initial payment of £27 for your first month's membership you are also agreeing to a recurring payment of £27, which will come out of your bank account on or around the same date every month until you cancel your membership, which you are free to do at any time.
- Do the workshops cover machine stitch as well as hand stitch?
Because we want to make Stitch Club inclusive for members who don't have access to a machine, most of the workshops are not specifically focused on machine stitch.
However, every now and then, we do offer a machine stitch workshop and all the exercises are flexible. Tutors using hand stitch often give suggestions for how to incorporate machine stitch, which a great many members do.
There is always an element of hand stitch involved, but the range of styles and mediums covered is extremely varied, with the vast majority of workshops incorporating some mixed media.
